Starfall was inspired by A Court of Mist and Fury, the second book in the ACOTAR series. I wanted to capture the magic of Starfall as it dances over the dreamy city of Velaris.
You may have noticed some Easter eggs I’ve painted into the piece. After all, it all started with a deer in the woods and a wolf that would change Feyre’s life forever. I’ve painted them into the scenery, looking out towards the city of Velaris.
There’s a table with books and candlelight, representing the sessions Rhys would have teaching Feyre to read. The edges are painted like a bookcase, representing the library beneath the House of Wind, and in the distance is the Sidra bridge beneath a night sky filled with shooting stars.
This painting literally shines off the canvas and is perhaps one of the most whimsical pieces I’ve created. The level of detail that went into this piece was significant and I’m so proud of this one!
